The Mighty Lionhearts Company was started after a eight year battle royale with Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome (WAS) and the Bone Marrow Transplant to defeat it.  Robbie Eklund was six months old when he was diagnosed with the severe immune deficiency WAS.  He received a bone marrow transplant 10 days shy of his 1st birthday and spent the next eight years beating this foe.  

During this battle, he lost the ability to walk three times, lost his eyesight for a year, broke two vertebrae in his back, acquired a fungal infection in his heart, lungs, and brain which the smartest doctors on the planet at Stanford University said there would be no cure for.  They gave him hours or perhaps days to live and asked us to sign a Do Not Resuscitate order...

We did not.  He refused to give up so we refused to give up with him.  We forgot the odds and followed our Mighty Lionheart through the darkest days a patient can endure.  Our Mighty Lionheart overcame all through positivity, prayer and a determination that was awesome to witness.  Thus, the Mighty Lionhearts Company is passing on this incredible attitude and spirit and looking for and sharing more examples of Mighty Lionhearts to inspire those overcoming the odds.
